Russia and
it's surrounding Soviet Republic's
have over 250,000 orphans waiting for adoption, and their prospects
for local adoption are bleak. With the growing poverty and economic
struggles, many of the residents are unable to adopt Russia's
waiting children, and the adoptions of children other than newborns
have fallen nearly to zero. Children in Russian orphanages face
an almost certain future of institutionalization until they become
16 years old, whereupon, they will face life on the streets without
family support and with little likelihood of finding anything
more than sustenance-level occupations. Russia is a beautiful
country rich in history, museums, and story telling. From the
Kremlin, Red Square, Cathedrals, to the waiting children, your
trip to Russia will certainly change your life! .

The Children waiting for adoption from
Russia live in Desky Doms, or orphanages until they are adopted.
The age of our waiting children in Russia is 7 months to 5 years
old. The caretaker to child ratio is approximately 1:10. The quality
of care varies from one orphanage to another and this can be directly
related to the physical and psychological well being of the children.
World Partners Adoption, Inc strives to work only with orphanages
that require above the normal regulation of the government standards.
The children are grouped by age and attend classes to socialize
with their peers. The children waiting for adoption must be on
the National Data Registry for the required amount of time before
they can be adopted internationally.
With
so many waiting children, there is no waiting list for our
program, and parents travel as soon as their dossier has been
accepted by the courts in Russia. Travel is typically 2-4 weeks
after your dossier has been submitted and approved. We will have
pictures, videos, medicals available on our waiting children for
your review. Click here to see
our photolisting of children who
are waiting for their forever families.
From start
to becoming parents is generally a 4-5 month process! You

your journey to build your forever family. Our entire staff is

and they have compassion and empathy for your needs throughout
your process. We will help you file your INS paperwork, compile
the documents for your dossier, provide you with your referral,
and answer all of your questions about the adoption process.
Once
your dossier is complete
and you have accepted your referral, we will send your documents

for your travel date, which usually comes 2-4 weeks after we submit
your dossier. You will travel to Moscow, then the adoptive city
for your adoption. Court is usually 2-4 days after you arrive.
The in country time is approximately 1-2 weeks. Upon the completion
of your adoption, you will go to the US Embassy in Moscow to complete
your immigration visa paperwork.
